Why practice English?

I'm not sure if it's appropriate to write something about this topic but I can't help myself wondering and thinking because
my best friend is blabbering his mouth and that makes him very annoying all because he talks to me in English!

Why are we supposed to practice good English Communications Skills?
Aren't we supposed to practice more of our language better than English or those vernacular languages? Right?
Many of our countrymen had shed blood and tears to fight for freedom, for our motherland and preserve our very own language, yet here we are, wasting their efforts by indulging ourselves using this foreign language?
What's up with that?!
(Nosebleed na ako dito! Haha!)

Ever since my academic years, I'm really fond of English. Mostly, in writing, but when it comes to speaking, good luck with that!
I'm not really a bad speaker myself, you know. In fact, some of my mentors adored me when I start to talk in English.
OK, so I know how to use this so called "English", but why practice 'it' again?

Any Business Ideas?

Being a professional, I mean, in a company that has foreign clients, a good English communication skill is a must to be able to communicate well. That is of course, if you want to promote your product, convince your clients to patronize your products or simply just to talk with them, then you have to use English.
I also noticed, that nowadays, If you want to land in a good company, one of their requirement is either excellent or good English communication skill.
But of course, once you start working, you're free to use Filipino by either whispering, one on one talk, or group conference, well, if they use to talk in Filipino, too, otherwise, you will be punished or worse, suspended if you will talk in Filipino in an "English Only Policy" workplace.

But why? Simple. NOT FOLLOWING INSTRUCTION!!!

Due to global progress, global competitions, so to speak, if you want a wide array of market, you have to use English.
Using English is also their way to communicate with us, well, maybe, because if you'll talk in 'Filipino', they'll think that you're talking behind their backs, or you're insulting them. So, If you want to be with them, use their language.
Another good thing about English is that it boost your self-confidence like, I feel sometimes that I'm one of the boss! Haha!
Well, I can say that we, Filipinos, are a good speaker of the English Language. We sure do have this Filipino Accent but, we speak English clear and Understandable. Proud to be Pinoy ata to! Haha! Good thing this blog site is not an "English Only Policy" site! Haha!

Dream. Believe. Survive, English!

You want to be an Actor? an Actress? Perhaps, a Dancer? Or a Singer? Are you a local artist who wants to be known internationally like Ms. Lea Salonga or Charice Pempengco? Yes! English is also a must!
In the Entertainment world, using English is very common! Well, if you'll just use Filipino, how will you supposed to get the attention of those Hollywood people? Being one of them is our dream right? Well, most of us! Haha!
And the fact that most of the songs right now is written in English?! Well, the popular ones, Of course.
How will you interpret a song if you didn't understand it? How will you dance to the music if you don't know the beat of it??? As an actor? How will you able to give justice to your role if you don't understand what is written in an English script?
In that case, I can say that English is not just a language, it's also a talent! Of course, If you want to consider yourself a full-package celebrity in the Entertainment world.

Study Hard! Study English?

Yes! Our modern teachers (All the teachers.. I guess, except the Filipino Teachers! Haha!) nowadays use English as their teaching tool to their students. But sad to know that some of the students refuses to feed their minds with this language.
Some of them says that they're not that confident in speaking the language, and others says that their friends used to bully them or laugh at them when they start to express their selves in English so they prefer not to speak of it.
According to my English teacher, a research in our country shows that out of the 10 girls, 4 of them speaks excellent English, 2 of them were good, and the other 4 girls preferred using "Taglish" or their own preferred languages.
Out of the 10 boys, 2 has an Excellent English communication skills, 2 were Good and the other 6 uses "Taglish" or they rather prefer to speak in their own other languages.
Rumor has it also that from 2 excellent English communicating boys are
most likely gays, the 2 good English speaking boys has the tendencies of being gay, and the remaining were most likely ended up becoming bystanders or the out-of-school youths.

Sad realization is that we are now getting far behind the other Asian countries who are seriously trying to learn English and risking their youth in the 3rd world country, the Philippines. Although we are one of the English speaking countries, if we don't practice expressing ourselves in English, how will they know (How are we supposed to brag to the other countries)that,
We are Good Speakers of the English Language?...

Studying English is not actually that hard! We don't need to exert effort of learning the English alphabets because obviously both Filipino and English alphabets are the same except for one. NG is technically N and G combined, right?
Since our toddler years, English is already a subject being taught to us personally by our parents then by our teachers. Yet, even as we get older, we find it hard to communicate in English fluently. Maybe we're too shy or maybe we feel that we weren't suited using English in expressing ourselves.

According to Wikipedia, our country, Philippines, ranked 5th as the World's highest populations of English speakers. 58 percent of our total population use English as a second language. Isn't that a good news?! Despite being so laid back in technology and being used by Koreans as gateway of learning English, we are still not far beyond comprehension. There might still be hope for us!

Expressing yourself in English will not only just boost your confidence but it'll also be your way to communicate to others and be able to understand them too. So start expressing yourself in English and dare to be different! Be an Englisher!

(Englisher?? What the f*ck am I saying?! Wahahahahahaha!)

Viewed freely, the English language is the accretion and growth of every dialect, race, and range of time, and is both the

free and compacted composition of all. — Walt Whitman
